Big I Maryland is thrilled to share exciting news with you—Angela Ripley of V.W. Brown Insurance Service will be installed as Chairman of the Board for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (Big “I”/IIABA) on September 13, 2025, in Nashville, TN. This is a momentous milestone, not only for Angela but for Maryland’s independent insurance community. She will be just the second agent from Maryland and only the second woman to hold this prestigious national leadership position in the IIABA’s 125-year history.

Originally planned for October 2026 in Baltimore, Angela’s installation has been rescheduled due to circumstances beyond our control. While this accelerates our timeline, it in no way diminishes our immense pride and excitement in celebrating Angela’s achievement.

Angela has been a dedicated leader in our industry for years, serving in numerous volunteer roles at both the state and national levels. She was Chairman of Big I Maryland in 2012, State National Director from 2014 to 2020, and served as the state InsurPac Chairman. Her agency has been a valued Big I Maryland member since 1977.
