| Stacey Nicholson, CIC, CPCU, CRM, LUTCF Chairman CNR Insurance | Annapolis, MD With over three decades in the insurance industry, Stacey began his career in 1989 as a District Sales Manager at Erie Insurance. During his tenure there, he earned several prestigious designations, including CIC, CRM, CPCU, and LUTCF. In April 2001, he became President of CNR Insurance, leading the Crismond Insurance Agency in Annapolis, MD. Over the past 23 years, he has successfully overseen the agency’s growth and development. |
| Berker Hazar Immediate Past Chairman Hazar Insurance | Kensington, MD Berker, a Geological Engineering graduate from Kocaeli University, moved to Washington, DC, in 2002 and transitioned into the mortgage industry. He later earned an MBA from the University of the District of Columbia and an MS from Georgetown University. In 2009, he founded Hazar Insurance, where he serves as owner and president. Dedicated to diversity and transparency in the insurance industry, Berker is a member of the Big “I” National Diversity Task Force Board and has been a Director for Big "I" Maryland since 2018, becoming Chair in 2023. He is also active in the Maryland Sister State program with Kocaeli, Turkey, and holds leadership roles in MUSIAD USA and Reyets. Berker resides in Washington, DC, with his wife and two children, and enjoys traveling, family time, and community involvement. |
| Matthew Hogans Chairman-Elect Hogans Agency, Inc | Chestertown, MD Matt has been in the insurance industry since 1996 and is the Chief Executive Officer of Hogans Agency, Inc., a firm that has been providing insurance services since 1952. Before his insurance career, Matt worked in the International Trade/Steamship industry with companies like Hapag-Lloyd Ag, Atlantic Container Line, and the Port of Baltimore. He enjoys travel, family, and beekeeping. Matt is a past president of the Chestertown Rotary Club and has served on the board of Chesapeake College and various insurance carrier advisory boards. He lives in Chestertown, Maryland, with his wife, Kathryn, and their family. |
| John Latimer Vice Chairman Blue Ridge Risk Partners | Hagerstown, MD John joined Keller Stonebraker Insurance in 2011, became a partner in 2013, and was named president in 2018. Following a merger in 2020, he became Chief Revenue Officer and President of MD and PA Operations for Blue Ridge Risk Partners. John began his insurance career after college and spent eight years as the Director of Fire and Emergency Services for Washington County, MD. His diverse background, including experience in his family’s construction business, enhances his perspective as an executive leader. Active in the community, he serves on several boards and volunteers as a firefighter. John holds a bachelor's degree from Emory and Henry College and is a Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager. He lives in Hagerstown with his wife, Cassandra, and their son, Austin. |
| Nancy Nicklow, AAI, CPCU, CRIS State National Director Huff Insurance | Pasadena, MD Nancy is currently principal of W. Ray Huff & Associates Inc. In 2002, Nancy earned her CPCU, and since has earned her AAI and CRIS. In 2003-2004, Nancy was president of the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Maryland. Nancy served in many roles with the association, she is currently the State National Director. And she is currently the chair for the National Invest committee. She has also served on the ACT Committee. Nancy and her husband, Jerry, have 2 children, Allie and Dalton. |

| Declan McCartin Region 1 Director Joseph W. McCartin Insurance | Centreville, MD Declan is an Account Manager in the commercial lines department at Joseph W. McCartin Insurance, Inc., where he has worked since 2020. He manages client accounts, including policy renewals and advice, and oversees the excess and surplus accounts. Declan graduated from the Leadership Greater Washington Rising Leaders Class of 2024, focusing on communication, management, and leadership skills. He is also studying for his CPCU designation. A 2019 graduate of the University of Mount Union with a degree in management, Declan was a four-year lacrosse player. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, golf, the beach, and spending time with his girlfriend and their dog. |
| Judy Roberson Region 2 Director Business Insurance Solutions | Silver Spring, MD Judy started her insurance career with State Farm Insurance in 1983, spending over 12 years there before shifting to commercial insurance with an Affinity Association Broker, focusing on Non-Profit Associations. After more than 4 years, she became a Commercial Manager, specializing in multi-line coverage and payroll alliances. In 2003, Judy founded Business Insurance Solutions, Inc., a family-owned agency serving over 4,500 clients across various sectors. She holds a BA in Business Management from Washington Adventist Academy and an Associate’s in Computer Science from Montgomery College. Judy has over 35 years of industry experience. |
| Corey Donovan Region 3 Director Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc | Baltimore, MD Corey has five years experience in the insurance industry, exclusively with Maury, Donnelly, & Parr. With a background spanning 7 years in higher education at Loyola University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Corey specializes in recruiting, training, advising, and policy interpretation. A Salisbury University and Loyola University of MD graduate with an MEd, Corey began her insurance career in Large Commercial Accounts, focusing on service and client relations. Currently pursuing a CISR designation in addition to holding a CLCS, Corey is dedicated to nurturing and educating the next generation of insurance professionals. She is a Baltimore County native, where she still resides with her husband and daughter, Drew. |
| Brian Meck Director-At-Large Meck Insurance Agency | Clarksville, MD Brian, a Maryland native, is the President, Founder, and Principal Agent of Meck Insurance Agency. With six years of experience working for both local agencies and a major international broker, Brian has extensive expertise in handling complex insurance needs for businesses ranging from small enterprises to large, multi-state corporations. Before entering the insurance field, he owned a manufacturing company with over 200 employees. Brian and his team specialize in optimizing personal auto, homeowners’, and life insurance policies to enhance coverage and savings. Passionate about the intricacies of insurance, he finds joy in analyzing policies and improving clients’ insurance programs. Brian proudly offers the personal, attentive service of Erie Insurance to his hometown of Clarksville. |
| Scott Haney Director-At-Large The Haney Company | Silver Spring, MD Scott began his professional journey in television and film production, founding a video production company in Atlanta after earning a double major at Indiana University. He directed international music tours, music videos, and an award-winning documentary before transitioning to corporate productions. Scott later joined his family's business, The Haney Company, where he now works as an all-lines insurance broker. He holds multiple industry designations, including LUTCF®, CPCU®, IOM, and CAE, and serves as Treasurer for the CPCU Society DC Chapter. He lives in Olney, Maryland, with his wife and two daughters. |
