Big I members with annual P&C gross revenue under $50 million can receive a complimentary license to use ACORD forms through an agreement between the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America and ACORD. Beginning in 2025, once you claim your license, it will stay active as long as you remain a qualifying Big I member and the national association continues its agreement with ACORD, with no annual renewal required.
ACORD requires all users of ACORD Forms, including agents, brokers, carriers, and others, to obtain an ACORD Forms EUL. Most agents currently access these forms through their agency management systems or other ACORD-authorized third-party redistributors. Through a new agreement with ACORD, the Big I will cover the cost of the EUL for eligible agencies that use ACORD Forms through a management system or redistributor.
This means agencies will not have to pay an EUL fee to ACORD, and agents will see no changes to their management system workflow. Agencies only need to complete the EUL with a simple clickthrough acceptance, after which the Big I and ACORD will verify membership and eligibility.
Independent agencies and brokerages that do not belong to the Big I national association, will need to obtain a license directly from ACORD, or join Big I Maryland to take advantage of this benefit and so much more!
