Meet the Instructor
Shelley Arnold, CPCU, AU, ARM, AAI
Shelley Arnold retired as President & CEO of Big I Maryland in 2018 after nearly 30 years of service. With more than four decades of experience in the insurance industry, Shelley has held senior roles at Insurance, Inc., Tongue, Brooks & Company, and began her career at Maryland Casualty Company.
A passionate educator since 1988, Shelley has taught courses in ACSR, AAI, CPCU, AINS, AU, and many specialized commercial lines topics. She has written multiple courses used by Big I Maryland and holds numerous professional designations, including:
AU (Associate in Underwriting), CPCU (Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter), ARM (Associate in Risk Management) and AAI (Accredited Advisor in Insurance)
Shelley has received countless awards for her dedication to insurance education and is known for making complex topics approachable and understandable. Though officially retired, she continues to shape the future of the industry—one student at a time.
