IMPACT Maryland, formerly known as the Maryland Young Agents Committee (YAC), is a dynamic community for emerging and aspiring insurance professionals across the state. We are dedicated to inspiring and supporting those new to the industry—whether licensed or not—by providing meaningful opportunities for advancement, connection, and training.

Join us on Tuesday, February 17 from 10:00–10:45 AM for a conversation with EJ Nadolny, CEO of Canopy Insurance Group.
As a young agent and agency owner, EJ will share a fresh perspective on building a career in insurance. He’ll talk about how he got his start in the industry, what led him to agency ownership, and lessons learned along the way. This session is perfect for agents who are exploring what’s next in their career and want real-world insight from someone who’s been there.

About the Speaker
EJ Nadolny brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to his role as CEO of Canopy Insurance Group. Prior to launching his agency, he served as Director of Commercial Insurance at Marion Miller & Associates in the Greater Baltimore area, specializing in commercial insurance for trade contractors, auto service businesses, trucking operations, and property risks. As the firm’s focus evolved, EJ expanded his expertise to include commercial and residential property insurance, as well as personal lines.
EJ holds bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Biochemistry from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he also played collegiate baseball. Outside of work, he enjoys competing in a semi-professional baseball league, golfing, and spending time with his wife and son.

ROAR for Kids Volunteer Event – Baltimore Zoo (April 12th)

Join IMPACT Maryland on Sunday, April 12, 2026, as we volunteer at ROAR for Kids, a 5K race and low-mileage walk for all ages held at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. Proceeds from the event support critical research and programs benefiting children at Kennedy Krieger Institute. IMPACT Maryland will be on site volunteering in support of this meaningful cause. Night Out @ The Yard – Camden Yards (May 12th @ 5:35PM)

Join Big I Maryland and IMPACT Maryland for Night Out @ The Yard, an exclusive members-only experience at Oriole Park at Camden Yards during the Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees game. The pre-game party will take place from 5:35 PM to 7:05 PM inside the Designated Hitters Lounge on the 4th floor of the B&O Warehouse, featuring incredible views of the playing field and Eutaw Street below. The game begins at 6:35 PM, making this the perfect way to kick off an exciting night at the ballpark.
This event is open to Big I Maryland and IMPACT Maryland members only, and registration is required. The cost to attend is $30, which includes entry to the pre-game party and a ticket to the ballgame. Space is limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot for a great night of networking, baseball, and Baltimore tradition.
IMPACT Karaoke Night – Jetty Dock Bar (August 26th)
Join Big I Maryland for the Big I Maryland Annual Conference & Showcase, a premier two-day event bringing together independent agents, carriers, and industry leaders for education, connection, and celebration. Attendees can look forward to impactful education sessions and meaningful networking opportunities throughout the conference, creating valuable connections with peers and partners from across the industry.
The excitement continues after hours with IMPACT Maryland on Wednesday, August 26th at Jetty Dock Bar for a lively karaoke night, making this conference the perfect mix of learning, networking, and fun.
Get Involved With IMPACT
IMPACT Maryland is open to insurance professionals, licensed or not, who are 40 years of age or younger or have been in the industry less than 5 years. IMPACT is open exclusively to employees of independent insurance agencies.
An annual membership fee is required with registration. The fee is $25 for Big I Maryland members and $50 for non-members. This helps support future IMPACT Maryland events, including quarterly happy hours and other member-only opportunities.
