Big 'I' Maryland Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

Our members are of the utmost importance to us at Big 'I' Maryland. We care deeply about you, your team, and your agency's success and wellbeing. Therefore amid ongoing developments and concerns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Big 'I' Maryland is closely monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and has taken a number of precautionary measures for the health and safety of our members, partners and staff. We want to share a few updates and ways we are here to serve you during this dynamic time to ensure safety and wellbeing remain a priority.

During the next 45-days, where mass gatherings are being cancelled, prohibited and discouraged from in person attendance, Big 'I' Maryland will be practicing social distancing as advised by federal, state, and local government officials. This means we will be cancelling all in person gatherings but will be available to you via phone, email and website as we have always been.

Keeping the health of our members, instructors, and Big 'I' Maryland staff at the forefront, and out of abundance caution, we have made the decision to postpone all in-person events scheduled during the next 45-days. This will affect all in-person classes, in-person events and exam retakes. The following structure will shape how we proceed, until further notice from the CDC, MDH and other federal, state and local government officials.

  • We will be cancelling the next 45 days of in-person classes, events and exam retakes, meaning everything outside of webinar courses being offered between today, March 16, 2020 through April 30, 2020 will be canceled. We are working to reschedule the events and courses canceled for later in the year.
  • For all classes scheduled within the 45-day period, you have the following options: you may request a full refund, you may request to have a credit placed on your account for the full amount of the class or you can request to be transferred to the rescheduled date for the class once made available.   • We understand how important your CE requirements are, and we share your concern on how to maintain them during this period. Big 'I' Maryland offers a comprehensive library of online options through ABEN and WebCE. We welcome you to visit ABEN and WebCE for online course options. Furthermore, we are working to expand this offering in the weeks to come to offer you more options.
  • Our office has always had the capability to work remotely and during this time of uncertainty, we have initiated a work-from-home policy for the next 2-weeks. Rest assured, we are still able to serve you, and your agency needs remotely.

While we may not be physically available, we are still able to serve you and available in the same manner we have always been. We greatly appreciate your understanding and know this decision was not one taken likely.
